Night has settled over the forest and the roaming Light is
searching the paths between the trees. Your gnomes are trying to reach safety: if you
can gather every gnome around the same tree before the Light freezes them, they will be
safe until dawn.
On your turn, you control the active gnome. Click a highlighted
hex to move them through the forest. Each gnome can move up to three hexes in a turn, as
long as the destination is valid. Once you have moved your gnome, the Light takes its
turn. The Light moves automatically across the board, and any gnome caught in its glow
is frozen in place and can no longer move.
Trees stand between the gnomes and the Light. They block its beams
and cast pools of shadow behind them. Any hex in shadow is safe, and a gnome hiding
there cannot be frozen while it stays within that darkness. Use the trees and their
shadows to weave safe routes towards a single meeting place.
Frozen gnomes are not lost forever. If a free gnome moves to a hex
next to a frozen gnome, and both of them are standing in shadow, the frozen gnome can
thaw out and return to the game on future turns.
You win the game when every gnome has gathered around the same
tree, huddled together in its shadow. You lose if the Light manages to freeze all of
your gnomes before they can reunite.
